Adam and Mary Goldberg founded Stronger Shot to fix a problem most people never think about: Pet Photos.
Shelter intake photos of pets are rushed, poorly lit, and taken in stressful moments, so they often look nothing like their true selves online. Adam, a Tampa based pet photographer running AGoldPhoto, saw this happen shoot after shoot and built Stronger Shot to change it.
The idea is simple. Stronger Shot sends professional photographers into shelters to retake adoption photos, capturing personality instead of panic. And the results are astonishing!
A dog who looked terrified in an intake photo can look playful, curious, or downright charming in a Stronger Shot image, and that difference often decides whether an adopter clicks past a listing or stops to learn more.
Since launching, Stronger Shot has photographed over a thousand shelter pets in 2026 alone, partnering with shelters across the country, including the Humane Society of Tampa Bay and Lifeline Animal Project. The program also trains a growing network of pet photographers nationwide through live courses on shelter and studio photography, extending its reach far beyond Adam’s own camera.
For shelters, joining costs nothing but an application. For photographers, it is a chance to use a real skill for a cause that saves lives.
