Ivan Alvarez Paniagua, Founder of PawVibesZ. The image highlights PawVibesZ as a Live Cat Sessions on Zoom experience built for calm, connection, digital wellness, and short emotional reset sessions for remote workers, students, Gen Z audiences, and cat lovers.

Live Cat Sessions sound like a soft internet idea until Ivan Alvarez Paniagua explains the deeper need behind PawVibesZ. Built as The World’s First Cats on Zoom Platform, PawVibesZ turns real cats, short Zoom sessions, and quiet digital pauses into a new kind of wellness experience for people who feel overstimulated, disconnected, or drained by busy online routines.

Somewhere between your third meeting and your fifth deadline, something in you needs to stop. Not meditate. Not optimize. Just stop.

Ivan Alvarez Paniagua built PawVibesZ for exactly that moment. His concept is disarmingly simple: real cats, live on Zoom, ten minutes, no agenda. But the need it speaks to is anything but small. In a world where digital wellness often feels like more work dressed up differently, Ivan is doing something quietly radical. He is letting a cat do what no app, algorithm, or breathing exercise can.

We sat down with Ivan to talk about where this idea was born, who it is really for, and why something as simple as watching a cat might be one of the most honest answers to burnout that the internet has ever offered.

Ivan, before we get into PawVibesZ, we’d love to hear about you first. Please tell us about your background, your personal connection with cats, and how that led you to create a live cat sessions experience on Zoom.

Thank you for having me for this interview. I’m happy to share the story behind PawVibesZ.

My background is in marketing and technology, but my connection with cats began in a very personal way. It started with a Tortoiseshell cat named Missi and her siblings, Mia, Rubi, Tom, and Negri.

When I met them, I became deeply fascinated by their presence. I noticed their attitude, resilience, independence, and calm energy. Missi, in particular, chose me. She followed me everywhere, and that bond changed the way I saw cats.

Over time, I fell in love with the quiet comfort they brought into daily life. That experience became the foundation of PawVibesZ. I wanted to share that calming presence digitally with people around the world, through cats from around the world.

Was there a specific moment in real life that made you think, "People genuinely need this."? I mean, Live Cat Sessions on Zoom.

Yes, I noticed how spending just a few minutes watching a cat could help someone’s feelings. This is also backed up by science. There are many studies on the benefits of animal companionship for reducing cortisol, lowering blood pressure, and improving mood.

You know, sometimes we only need a living reminder to slow down and breathe; cats are very good at providing that, and I am providing this experience via live cat sessions on Zoom through PawVibesz.

The idea, Live Cat Sessions, speaks to something deeper than just cute cats on a screen. What human needs were you really trying to address when you built PawVibesZ?

Connection, calm, and presence. These are the human needs we lack in the digitally surrounded environments. We have lost genuine connections, have become uncalm, and lost our original presence.

Ten minutes of observing a cat via a live cat session can remind us to slow down and reconnect with the present moment.

In a noisy world full of notifications and doom scrolling, many feel disconnected. Ten minutes observing a cat can interrupt that cycle. It gently pulls us to the present moment and creates an emotional reset that we lack but deserve.

Who did you originally build this for, and has that picture shifted as you've learned more about who actually shows up?

Well, we are experimenting with diverse audiences: employees, schools, generation Z, and other generations, individuals with neurodivergence, groups, and so forth. As we progress, we notice interest from a wider range of audiences. In fact, it has a universal appeal.

Cats are often seen as independent, even aloof. What do you think they offer in a digital wellness space that other online experiences can't replicate?

In one word: Authenticity. Cats don’t perform. They behave naturally. That unpredictability creates a uniquely honest experience. No app, meditation, or content can match that. It feels real because it is real.

Cats obviously can't be scripted or directed. How do you shape a live session around their natural behavior, which feels intentional?

The beauty of PawVibesZ is that the cats lead the experience. And, the magic comes from embracing whatever happens naturally. Cats’ language is universal and transcends cultures and languages.

Our goal is to create a safe, low-pressure, non-scripted space for that behavior and deliver it to the people in need through live cat sessions.

Not every cat would thrive in this setting. What qualities do you look for when deciding if a cat is a good fit for PawVibesZ?

At PawVibesZ, we do not treat cats like performers. So, we don’t look for a perfect camera-ready personality. What matters most is the bond between the cat and the human host.

The setup stays simple. A phone camera points toward the cat in their own space, and the live session follows whatever the cat naturally does. They may stretch, nap, walk away, stare at the camera, or ignore everyone. That freedom is part of the experience.

Here, I would also like to add that for us, cat safety and comfort come first. We never want hosts to force a moment or push a cat into interaction. The cat leads, the human supports, and the audience gets something real.

That is also why anyone with a calm bond with their cat can take part. You do not need to be a trained communicator or professional presenter. The cat is the star of the show, and PawVibesZ works because we let cats be cats.

Animal welfare has to be central to something like this. How do you make sure the cats are genuinely comfortable throughout each live session?

The cat’s comfort comes before the session itself.

PawVibesZ is not about making cats perform for a camera. Our live sessions stay short because every cat has a different personality, mood, and comfort level.

Some cats enjoy the attention. Some prefer to sit quietly. Others may walk away, sleep, stretch, or ignore the camera. All of that is accepted because the experience follows the cat, not the other way around.

In addition, we also rely on the human host because they know their cat best. If the cat shows signs of stress or wants space, the session stays respectful. For us, animal welfare is not a feature. It is the rule behind every live cat session.

You chose 10-minute sessions, which feels very intentional. Why did that shorter format make more sense than longer, more structured experiences?

Ten minutes creates enough space for a real pause.

Most people can fit a short session between meetings, classes, or daily tasks. They do not need to prepare, focus hard, or commit to a long wellness routine. They only need to show up, watch the cat, and let the moment slow them down.

A longer session might start to feel structured or forced. PawVibesZ works because it stays light, simple, and easy to enter. Ten minutes gives people a reset without adding another demand to their day.

What does a PawVibesZ live cat session actually look like from start to finish for someone joining for the very first time?

Simple than anything!

Choose the cat among the more than 70 on the list in more than 20 countries and 50 human hosts. Book and schedule the live session. Start the Zoom, watch the cat, relax, and smile. Close the session, reflect, and feel grounded.

Every session is unique, and every cat is unique. Everyone who has experienced a session so far has smiled and felt grounded after it.

For someone stressed between back-to-back meetings, how does a live cat session do something that a coffee break or a meditation app doesn't?

It’s a real pause and feels different.

A live cat session introduces unpredictability and genuine connection. Coffee gives an energy boost, meditation requires focus and effort, and a PawVibesZ session asks you almost nothing, just watch the cat.

The unpredictability, zoomies, stretch, purring, pulls the mind out of stress and creates a pause filled with joy.

Schools and student communities are dealing with real mental health pressures. How do you see virtual cat sessions fitting into that world specifically?

Students are under real pressure today. Many deal with academic stress, social anxiety, screen fatigue, and constant digital noise. Virtual cat sessions give them a short pause that feels natural, easy, and pressure-free.

The actual value is accessibility. Students do not need to travel, prepare, download another wellness app, or explain how they feel. They join a short session, watch a real cat in real time, and get a quiet emotional reset.

We have already tested this in school settings, and the response from young students felt very honest. They smiled, laughed, asked questions, and reacted with real curiosity. Kids do not fake that kind of feedback. For them, it became a different class experience, softer, lighter, and more memorable.

I see PawVibesZ fitting into schools as a simple wellness break, a classroom reset, or a gentle support tool during stressful academic periods. It is not meant to replace mental health support. Instead, it gives students a low-barrier moment of calm when they need to breathe, reconnect, and feel present again.

Of all the communities you serve, from remote workers to neurodivergent individuals to students, which group's response surprised you the most?

We look forward to having more traction and booking volume to discover this. So far, we’ve been pleasantly surprised by a strong positive response from individuals and GenZ. They have shared how live cat sessions help regulate and feel in a very natural way. As booking volume increases, we love to have deeper insights about which communities benefit the most.

There's no shortage of wellness tools out there. What makes a real, live cat feel more human than another digital product?

A shared moment involving a living being makes it a real moment, contradictory to wellness tools. And since it contains unpredictability, authenticity, and emotional presence, this can’t be replicated by any algorithm. The feeling of connection that you share a space with another soul makes the experience more relational and human.

The people behind the cats seem just as important as the cats themselves. What role do cat guardians play in making a session feel safe and warm?

Cat guardians play a huge role because they know the cat better than anyone else. They understand the cat’s mood, comfort level, habits, and boundaries. So, during a PawVibesZ session, their job is not to control the cat. Their job is to create a calm space and let the cat be natural.

Safety always comes first. If the cat wants to stay, explore, sleep, stretch, or walk away, that is completely fine. Sometimes a small treat or Churu helps bring the cat closer to the camera, but we never force anything. The live cat sessions only work when the cats feel relaxed.

That respectful energy also reaches the person watching. When the guardian stays patient and gentle, the session feels warmer, safer, and more real. It becomes a shared moment between the cat, the guardian, and the viewer.

PawVibesZ has a playful, lighthearted brand, but the need behind it is quite real. How do you hold both of those things at once?

Calm is the main essence. Playfulness and well-being are aligned. The lighthearted brand makes the idea approachable, lowering the barrier for people who can feel intimidated by traditional wellness tools. Playfulness opens the door, while the calming effect of the cat delivers a deeper value.

Was there a single message, session moment, or early response that made you feel this was bigger than a fun idea?

The early feedback has already been very positive. These responses remind us that this is much more than a cute concept; it’s a real emotional need.

You've also explored the possibility of a global Cats on Zoom event. What kind of community moment are you hoping to create with something like that?

We have already tested this format, and the feeling was amazing. A global Cats on Zoom event could create a shared moment without borders, where people from different countries join the same calm space and connect through cats in real time.

For me, the beauty is in the simplicity. Participants are not only watching one cat on a screen. They are entering a community moment where several cats, several hosts, and several cultures meet naturally. Cat people connect fast because they understand that quiet joy. Cats bring softness, curiosity, and presence into the room.

That is the kind of moment I hope to create. A live, global pause where people smile, relax, and feel connected through something simple, honest, and full of positive energy.

Why Zoom and not a curated video library? What does the live element give people that a passive experience can't?

Real cats in real time. This interaction and sense of presence make a unique experience, very different from recorded, passive, and predictable content you can even watch at double speed. You never know what will happen next. That presence, spontaneity, is powerful. Live cat sessions feel more personal and emotional; it’s a one-of-a-kind moment.

What's been the hardest part of getting investors, partners, or organizations to truly understand what PawVibesZ is before they've experienced it?

This is like riding a bicycle; you have to experience it to understand it. Describing watching a cat on Zoom sounds simple, but once people join, they feel the difference and the emotional shift. That lived experience convinces partners and organizations far better than any pitch.

What kinds of partnerships, whether with shelters, pet brands, schools, or corporate wellness teams, feel like the most natural and responsible path forward?

We see strong potential with animal shelters to promote adoption and pet ownership awareness. There is great potential with corporate wellness, schools, healthcare, and pet brands, all of which represent opportunities.

The commitment is to animal welfare and positive social impact. We want collaborations that benefit both people and cats. PawVIbesZ positioning covers wellness, entertainment, and care.

And finally, stepping back as a founder, what have cats themselves taught you about building something rooted in trust and emotional connection?

Cats teach patience, authenticity, and respect for boundaries. You can’t force trust; you earn it with consistency and care.

What's next, and where do we have to go and what to do to book a session or be a host?
